Meet Howard Reid Design
A South Carolina transplant by way of Florida, Chrissy Howard loves living and working in the Blue Ridge mountain region. She earned her interior design degree from Florida State University and later passed the NCIDQ to become a licensed interior designer. Before founding Howard Reid Design with Courtney, Chrissy spent more than 25 years cultivating her craft in some of the South’s most notable and prestigious homes. Her projects have been featured in leading design publications, and she’s known for translating a client’s vision into reality through a thoughtful design perspective.
She brings curiosity and creativity to each project— guiding clients toward unexpected possibilities while honoring their vision.
Courtney Reid's journey into interior design didn’t follow a traditional path—and that’s exactly what makes her perspective so distinctive. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in journalism, her passion for art history naturally evolved into a career in design. She began in high-end retail store design within the luxury resort market, where she developed her eye for elevated, intentional spaces.
Having called seven states home, Courtney understands how personal style adapts to different settings, bringing a uniquely layered point of view to every project. She specializes in designing interiors that feel both polished and livable—elegant yet practical, refined and deeply personal.
